Amazing felt details - of a much larger project that you can see here. Thought you might love this!

Odd and old

This is super cool - check out this vintage 1940s fabric. I love seeing original textile design like this, it drives me! Makes me want to stop everything I'm doing and start designing collages. From one of my fave French Etsy shops, Odd and Old.

Found - Mister Finch

These are fantastic - moths made from remnants of vintage embroidered linens. These were created by Mister Finch in the UK. I adore them! So unique and different. Great job.

Found - Inklings

These fab new designs from Inkling Prints go so nicely with all the beautiful things that I've already featured here this week. They are all right around $40 - which seems like a great deal for a hand printed, one of a kind piece. I found them at Poppytalk Handmade Market.

Mid-century graphics

With so much midcentury illustration being 'borrowed' these days it's great to see some of the real thing. This Etsy seller has the most amazing collection of vintage tea towels I've ever seen and some of them look brand new.

Inspiration - mystery trim

For some reason this piece of vintage trim is really inspiring - I think it's the rough sewing technique and the blue and cream colours - gives it an Indian look though I think it may be European. I like it a lot, do you? The colours, the texture and the general folksy look. It's from here.

Yellow, grey and . . . . orange!

Last year everyone was all over yellow and grey - but how about you throw some orange into the mix? This is far more exciting! Quilt block project from Purl Bee - the endlessly inspiring blog from Purl Soho.

Love Maude

Oh just look at all these pretty embroidered things from Love Maude. She has such a good eye for colour and scale and each piece is so beautifully made - what a clever gal :-)

This is a very pretty, patterned throw from Urban Outfitters. Very "William Morris goes to India in a Gypsy Caravan" - don't you think?

Inspiration - rainbow hues

Okay bear with me - there's something really appealing about the rainbow hues of these kitchy little doilies. They caught my eye and I filed them away under 'inspiration' - perhaps you will too. From BD Vintage.

Hot stuff ;-)

Brrrrr, baby it's cold outside! I have a secret - at this time of the year I like nothing better than going to bed with a hot water bottle on my feet - must be because I grew up in Scotland where I wouldn't have dreamed of going to bed without one! I spotted this tutorial the other day on Craftgawker and thought I would share it with my crafty readers. This is such a posh hot water bottle cover from My Patchwork - much fancier than the ones that my mum knits me(I know, the visual gets better and better!) I wonder if I could bribe my quilting mother in law to make one of these beauties for me . . . .

Shiny happy people!

How fun are these - tongue in cheek purse designs from English designers French & English Confectioners. I love shiny leather and French & English almost work entirely in patent leather. Cream patent leather is so soft and yummy. The stitched detail is so whimsical. Great stuff!

Window Shopping - Petit Details

This little shop, Petits Details, sells authentic french linen and linen trim. It's so beautiful. They even have french linen towel yardage(you know, the one with the red stripe down the side.) I think you will love the gorgeous items in store - go check them out!
