Some great examples of vintage props used in decorating - I am so enamored by the first image - opulent and divine!

Eye Candy
Sometimes certain images all just look really nice together and one doesn't need any other reason than that to post them.

Random Objects
These are necklaces produced from vintage wallpaper. I like the image. I would hang them like decorations just like this!

From the seemingly endless world of creativity known as Etsy.
So many cupboards so little time
I am a sucker for old wooden cupboards. I love them and can't get enough of them - which is why there are a couple in the barn waiting for their, yet to be determined, perfect location in the house. Doug keeps threatening to sell them in the yard sale which we will be having in a couple of weeks - you know, one of those yard sales that you have to have every couple of years to sell all the junk that you've bought in everyone else's yard sales!

Oh and some chairs too!
Beautiful photography from Dutch Photographer Dana van Leeuwen
1971?
Thanks to Jen I found this wonderful poster at Merchline. Very cool.  Hmmmmmm 1971 - what do you know about 1971 - don't be shy!

Mystery Art
Here's another piece of mystery art from ffffound.com. Feel free to enlighten me with the artist's name and I will display it here loud and clear as it deserves to be. A thing of beauty. (See note below)

UPDATE: Jen from GreetQ says,"This is the work of Scott Hansen of ISO50 (http://blog.iso50.com). If you're really in love you can buy it here: http://merchline.com/iso50. I'm quite smitten with the 1971 poster myself: http://www.merchline.com/iso50/productdisplay.2861.p.htm. He's a true talent!" Thanks Jen!

Dress Code
These amazing Dress Code stools are designed by Fukutoshi Ueno in Brisbane Australia. I think they are extraordinary. I love the patterns on the inside of the pieces - wonderful details. There is a very nice piece on this designer right here at Steph Bond's blog Bondville.

Mibo
Patterns and prints from Mibo - lots of fun prints here in case you haven't seen them before.

Green - and blue and red . . .
Very pretty hand screenprinted fabrics and bags produced on hemp cloth with environmentally friendly inks - it doesn't get much greener than that! Get yours here from the very talented Pippijoe .

Nominated
Apparently I have been nominated for a Blogluxe Award this year - favourite women bloggers for 2009! How exciting(thank you giving me the heads up Jennifer). We are nominated under the Eye Candy category - cool! So, you know what I am going to ask next don't you? Please go and vote for me - go on - please? Go to the page and click on the "eye candy" section and scroll down - you'll see me there.

Mingle
Just a reminder to all my local Kootenay business friends - there's another Mingle Cocktail Lounge evening on Thursday from 5 to 7 at Louie's this week. The last one was really fun and I met lots of business women from around the area. This time it's open for guys too - so come on down and Mingle, network and have a cocktail on Thursday evening! See you there. Thanks for the invite Julie!

New Project?
Today's post are mostly about rubber stamps. I love stamping - I think I like it because you get a sort of silkscreened effect - which I love. I mostly design my own stamps and have them produced by a stamp shop. I have lots of them including the ones below. It would be fun to have my own line of rubber stamps - perhaps that could be a new project for me - ha ha, like I need a new project!

More vintage rubber stamp images.

Middle image from here, last image from here.

I have couple of vintage rubber stamp holders and I have often wondered if there are other clever uses for them - I have a robins egg blue one from the 50s that I love. So here's a clever little idea - pop some tiny pictures into the clamps!

Here's a clever little project for old rubber stamps - click here to find out how to make these fun little photo holders.

Custom stamps
Have you seen this? Lettergirl will hand letter your name and address and produce a wonderful rubber stamp for you to use on all the beautiful cards you send ;-)  She has a great eye for design and there are lots of style options to choose from - conservative to fun and funky. I think this is a great idea!

I know these are not rubber stamps - but they almost look like them don't they? Old bingo numbers and monogrammed and numbered, french ribbon from Posh.

Happy Friday!
Have a great weekend everyone. It's been a very hot week here in BC with temps hovering in the mid 30 degrees celsius all week. I think we will spend some time on the water this weekend - hopefully having as much fun as these gals are. See you Monday!
Artist Dolan Geiman
I have admired Dolan Geiman's work for a couple of years now - I like his friendly, southern inspired images. I was reminded of his work again recently at Poppytalk. Produced from salvaged wood, found objects, and other recycled materials, Geiman's eco-friendly artwork emerges from a folk art tradition infused with a contemporary, urban style. Originally from Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, Geiman currently lives and works in Chicago. His web site is chock a block full of artwork and you can buy his work on his Etsy site right here.
