Inspiration - guess what?

This is kind of a funny post. Doug was telling his friend Craig that we were planning on going to Vegas for a trade show in September. Craig said that he didn't think much of Vegas and the last time he went he spent a large part of the vacation taking pictures of the carpets in the casinos because he thought they were so amazing. I think they are fabulous, here are some of Craig's pictures . . .

The carpets...shown in this manner, are quite wonderful. Some years ago I was in Las Vegas and was overwhelmed visually by the "busyness" factor of casino carpeting. Your friend has given them art status by showing a small section. I love your blog.

That's hilarious ... as "carpets" was how I made my living for quite a few years I always notice and comment on them....Gary just rolls his eyes...hahaha

Wow, I love the selection of carpet pictures....what a unique way to view Las Vegas! When I was a kid, my mother wanted "movie theatre" carpeting in our house, so she was able to order carpet from a commercial supplier. We had awesome, elaborately detailed red carpeting in our home. Unique was my mother's middle name!

Thanks for all the comments!
I would go to Vegas just to see the carpets!
Growing up in the UK in the 70s meant we always had very wildly patterned carpets - everyone did!

Mitzi - your mum sounds like fun!
