I really hope I don't bore you with old tins. I could bore you with other stuff like fake mustaches on sticks but they wouldn't really be worthy of your boredom so I'll stick to the occasional post on old tins - I'll just make sure they're good ones - like these from the Rhubarb Studio . . .

Random object
I haven't done a random object post in ages - here's a good one. This is vintage Florentine tole from Italy. I've had a few pieces of this in the past and it's quite fascinating - the gold leaf and red - really stunning. This piece houses a religious image. I'm feeling inspired all ready!

Sister Batik
Patterns like these are wonderful - so unique, impulsive and random. The process of wax batik is fascinating and ancient. I love these pillows from Sister Batik - there's a traditional and contemporary feel with so much energy and inspiration. I hope you love them - I spotted these on this treasury from Design Seeds.

Inspiration - Dutch cake!
I noticed this wonderful Dutch inspired wedding cake via a link on brides.com. The maker is Coco Paloma. And no, we are not getting married!
Same, but not the same.
I know why I like these - 6 little votives with coordinating, but not matching, red patterns. I'm a sucker for a set of tiny patterns that are similar but not the same. Same, but not the same. Know what I mean ;-)

Vintage display!
Great vintage piece from 5 Gardenias. Old shop fixture with lots of little clips to display photos etc.
Well hello Doily!
I thought I would share this with you this morning - a doily lampshade made by Shannon South. I think this is an interesting project - really opened my mind to other uses for vintage doilies . . .
