Decorating ADD
So one half of me wants to paint the house all white and the other half wants to add texture and colour and nic nacs and collections - I have decorating ADD - probably because it's really too early in the year to be predicting my big makeover plan for the house - I remember an old fella from around here telling me to "never make important decisions in February." So, forgive me if I come up with 25 wacky ideas by easter - I'm going to do something - I'm just not going to make plans until we are into March - at the earliest!

Fantastic inspiration to fuel your decorating plans from Brabourne Farm

I´m having trouble decideing aswell. I look at all these all white homes, then I think, no, it´s far too clinical. But on the other hand, all details, all furniture (especially coloured) look great.
I´ve always liked colour, but a change would be welcome. I think i´ll follow the good advise to "never make important decisions in February."
The pics are beautiful! I also dream of living in an old house, but likewise, I am no fan of draft or leaky taps...

i'm so with you! one day i want a minimalist environment with nothing displayed anywhere and then the next day i fall in love with a million knick knacks while thrifting. i think it's the life of a designer really. we have a great love for a variety of styles....not necessarily a bad thing, just very challenging when it comes to making a decision.

IF you go all white you can't avoid the shabby chic look - just too much white. And can you imagine keeping a white floor clean? Definitely need wood to ground all that white. The right color can change your whole outlook - you're great with color - don't fear color. On the other hand, I've put off painting my living room for several years because I can't decide which color I want! I do love a white bedroom; you can change the whole look with accessories and bedding.

I loooooove that dining room with the "in the woods" feeling. Someday when (if) I own my own home, I may have to do that.

Well I do own a house with drafty windows, leaky taps AND plaster walls. It has good bones though and is just waiting for me to put my stamp on it. I've been far too timid. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and fabulous finds. I feel some bold ideas coming on!

I have the same dilemma. Go simple or get crazy with layers. Simple is winning due to only having 1000 SF to work with and not wanting to be buried in visual clutter. Oh, also I hate to dust! Lovely pics--really like the bird prints in the hall like room.
