Cartolina Giveaway!
Right, it's time for a giveaway - YAY! We haven't had a giveaway for a few months and, considering today marks our 600th post, I think it's about time. So, up for grabs is big selection of Cartolina *best sellers*. Cards, notecards, minicards and notebooks(and if you're really lucky I'll throw in a couple of our brand new glittered Christmas cards!) Retail value of about $100. So what do you have to do to win this pretty little prize? - Well, since we just got back from the coast, I'd really like to know where your favourite beach is. You can write as little, or as much, as you like down below in the comment section and I'm looking forward to reading them all. We'll keep this open until Saturday evening and I'll have a winner's name right here for you on Monday morning. So where's YOUR favourite beach(I'll tell you mine -  Botanical Beach on Vancouver Island - now it's your turn!)

What a lovely giveaway!
My favorite beach would probably be Tanjung Rhu in Langkawi, Malaysia

For me beaches are made for beachcombing and my favourite is Agate Beach near Masset on the Queen Charlotte Islands. I have a very nice agate and shell collection from this beach.
But if I was going to suntan then my favourite beach would be near Gaeta in Italy.

What an amazing giveaway - so generous. My favourite beach would have to be the beach @ Brighton.

What alovely give-away! Congratulations on 600 posts! My favourite Canadian beach is Kits, which you pictured in the previous post. It has something for everyone whether you want to be active, to socialise or just to lay on the beach. My all time favourite beach is Filey Beach in North Yorkshire. It is a wide expanse of sand where in summer and on school holidays you can have a pony ride; where you can watch the surfers or be one, if that's your thing; where you can watch the few remaining fishings cobles (boats) going out or coming in; where you can gets chips or icecream or buy things to support the lifeboats; and where you can meet the whole village, if you hang about long enough.

My favorite beach is a tiny, curved stretch of sand in Cohasset, Massachusetts. It was so small that I'm not sure it had a proper name. On each end of the curve were huge tan rocks that I climbed up on. The sand was pebble and sea-shell strewn and the ocean water bubbled frothy where water met pebbles. It was so peaceful to wander and collect shells in the solitude. In the distance I could see a lighthouse and beautiful seaside cottages. Oh, how this Iowa girl longs to go back.

This giveaway is beautiful - I would have to frame all of them and hang them on my wall!. My favourite beach was a 5 minute walk through my parents property in West Australia when I was growing up. On the weekends or school holidays, my sister and I used to fill our backpacks in the morning from whatever goodies we could find in the kitchen and take off for the day with the dog, snorkeling and larking about. Some days it had the clearest blue water, we used to duck dive as far as we could go and try and come up again with a handful of bright white sand. We'd come back to the house at the end of the day all sandy and worn out, trying to hide our sunburn from mum so we didn't get a lecture.

What a fabulous giveaway!

At home here in Melbourne, Australia, my favourite beach is Mornington Beach which has one great big long row of brightly coloured bathing/beach boxes - it's a gorgeous sight.

Overseas my favourite beach is the beach on Mana Island in Fiji. You can go snorkelling straight off the beach. It's beautiful.

My fav beach is the one I grew up on....Lake Michigan :) Congrats on 600 posts. Just found your blog tonight and im seriously in love!!!!

My favorite beach is Sullivan's Island, South Carolina. I grew up spending the summers there, and though some of the houses have gotten bigger, and there are a couple more restaurants, in large part it is as I remember it from childhood, relatively unspoiled and uncommercialized. Fort Moultrie is there, from which some of the first shots of the American Civil War were fired. There is an old lighthouse that still shines out into the dark, and the wide expanse of the Atlantic Ocean is an awesome sight.

Your blog is always so inspiring, and I LOVE this giveaway! Fingers crossed.

Congratulations on 600 posts. Such beautiful items for a giveaway - always such fun to try to win. The Lake Michigan shoreline at Manistee holds a lot of good memories for my family but best of all I love quiet afternoons on the beach of my own little one acre pond - grandkids building and digging in the sand, catching frogs and fish. Perfection!

Oh dear. I'm just not a beach person, I hope I still qualify. I admire the ocean though. So, I'll just have to say my favorite is a rocky lighthouse coast in Maine, where I can watch in awe the rough tides crashing against gigantic rocks from my dry, safe, unsandy distance.

Fanny said...

Ah yes, Botanical Beach is great, but I have to say my favourite is French Beach, also on Vancouver Island, for sentimental reasons.

Congratulations on your 600th post! What a milestone.
I'll add my favorite beach to the list: The white sandy beach on Jost VanDyke in the British Virgin Islands. There is no dock so you sail your boat close to the shore, anchor, jump over and swim to shore! Your first stop is the Soggy Dollar Bar (soggy dollars - from swimming ashore - get it?). With your painkiller (local drink) in hand, you can relax on the beautiful beach. Ahhh! My second favorite is Grace Bay in the Turks & Caicos - absolutely breathtaking!

Hanna said...

First off, I love the Wild for You card, so pretty :)

Secondly, we tried to get to botanical beach this winter, but the roads were impassible. So sadly, I never got to see it :(

Thirdly, my favourite beach is...Cannon Beach in Oregon. I love the huge fun rocks, and it's a great little artsy town.

my fave is the beach at Trevara, in Beara County Ireland. Not a sunbathing beach, really, but a great walking beach.

The beach at Tulum in Mexico is absolutely gorgeous!( see here http://cache.virtualtourist.com/3197676-The_beautiful_beach_of_Tulum-Estado_de_Quintana_Roo.jpg )

However, my favorite beach would have to be where my father lives in Port Dover. Not because of the sand, or the surf, or the view - because I get to hang out with pops when I'm there.

Cheers!

Oh wow! My favourite beach is Cottlesloe Beach in Perth, Western Australia. Really, any beach on the west coast of Australia is beautiful. There tend to be conveniently located pubs, too!

Jingle said...

My favorite beach is Wells Beach in Wells, Maine. It isn't the best beach in the world or anything and sometimes, quite frankly, it gets too darned crowded for my tastes, but, it remains my favorite. Why? Because I spent HOURS upon HOURS playing on that beach when I was little. Then I spent hours laying in the sun on that beach as a teen. And now, as an adult, I go back to that beach...to sit, to enjoy, to relax, and to spend time with my family. I love that beach. It holds far more than sand and ocean water. It holds my summer memories.

Although I prefer small little beaches on around lakes (Lake Ontario has some wonderful ones we discovered on vacation there once) my favorite ocean beach would be Sand Beach in Acadia National Park, on MT Desert Island, ME. The only really sandy beach on a spectacular island I was lucky enough to spend my growing up summers on!

Koh Samui in the Southern part of Thailand is definitley my favorite!

The best holiday-lay in the sun-go body surfing kind of beach that I've been to is Alexandria Beach in Queensland Australia. Big warm surf, white sand, no houses or shops (at least when I was there)
Although I think I'm disqualified from this contest because I work in the Cartolina Cards factory.

I've been to some very pretty beaches but I'd have to say that my hometown beach in Florida will always be my favorite- snuggled between Flagler and Ormond Beach; it's quiet, natural and not surrounded by touristy hotels and shops.

It's not that it is a beautiful beach- in fact it is rocky and the water is freezing, but I have such fond memories of Rye Beach in Portsmouth NH. Many times I fell in love with my fiance all over again there.

Kaanapali Beach in Maui--absolute paradise.

My favorite beach is Nags Head, in North Carolina. We used to spend time there every summer when I was little. It has since become built up with condominiums, but back then there would be herds of wild horses that would run along the beach in the early morning. My friend Janie and I would go out there with apples and sugar cubes in the hopes of taming one and causing our parents to let us bring it home.

oh how exciting!

I love Zuma Beach, just north of Malibu, in California.

My favorite beach is on the Big Island of Hawaii. Its Black Sand Beach... the volcanic rock makes this beach have black sand and the sea turtles love it! Its so exciting to watch so many turtles swim up to the beach and lazily cruise around on the black sand.

I enjoy your blog so much. It's such a feast for the eyes.

My favorite beach is Kiawah Island, South Carolina. My husband, children and I have vacationed there for years - the beach is wide and beautiful, the atmosphere is casual and relaxing, and the shell seeking is wonderful. Our extended family spends Christmas there every fifth year - it's even wonderful in the winter!

Moonlight Beach near San Diego. My grandmother lived near there when I was little and would take my sister and me when we would visit her. It is a local beach with only few families visiting.

Oh Wow I LOVE this cards!!
My favorite beach is Miami Florida! I love to go to South Beach and people watch! It's always fun to lay in the white sand and watch the BEAUTIFUL blue water lap at the shore. When you find a less crowded section, it's very relaxing!

Gulfport, Mississippi - my hometown! We could walk to the beach from the house I grew up in. I moved away after Katrina, but when I go home to visit, I love stopping by the beach and listening to the waves and remembering the way things used to be. Even though it was never the most glamorous beach in the world, it will always be home.

Gorgeous Cards.
My favourite beach is Ambleside Beach. In the late 50's early 60's mom took my brother and I there on her days off. We wore tattered old runners to swim in the rocky waters. It was always too cold for Steve and I but mom loved it. I think of her every time we pass over on the Lions Gate Bridge in Vancouver.

I love the white sand beach in Laneki on the Island of Oahu in Hawaii. I have great memories with my cousin who isn't with us anymore. Great childhood memories there.

My favorite beach is Pensacola Beach. I love it not only because of the snow white sands and blue green water, but because my family lives there and I always enjoy spending time with them in such a beautiful place. We get together there every June, and have for my entire life. It's definitely my favorite beach.

Beautiful blog and really beautiful cards! My favorite beach is Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I was never much of a beach person but when we moved to South Florida from Tennessee, I soon fell in love with the amazing blue water and sky. Now that I am living far inland again I miss the beach very much. Congrats on your 600th post!

Ocracoke, NC. Small village. Nothing glitzy or glamorous about it, which I love. It's remote & everyone there is a doll.

Amazing giveaway and congrats on 600 posts! I have only been to a few beaches and I can't remember the name of most of them, so I will say Venice Beach in California. I went there in college for a friend's wedding and I think of it every time I hear the name.

Deerfield Beach in Maine. This is not a sparkly-blue-water kind of beach, but this is where my little boy first dipped his toes into the ocean.

Ooh, tough one. I love Botanical Beach too (and China Beach not far down the road), but I think my favourite is one that's lucky enough to be close to home: the beach at Halfmoon Bay in Pacific Rim Nat. Park.

Beach Haven on Long Beach Island in New Jersey. It might not be the most exotic, but it's where I spent a week every summer as a kid. This will be the second year I've rented a place with a group of friends. I cannot wait - 51 days and counting!

I want to say Muir Beach in Northern California especially in the off season when no one's there and its really moody - but after seeing your cards I have to say it was a beach in Hawaii on Maui (can't remember the name of it but it was lovely)... anyway blogged your contest at www.bloomacious.com today.

My favorite beach is actually one about 40 minutes from my house in Vermont in Plymouth State park. It's just out of the way enough to not be super crowded during the summer, has a GREAT playground, tons of grass, plenty of room to run and picnic, and a good inexpensive snack bar!

Thank you so much for sharing all your lovely posts. The eye candy alone makes my days so much more brillant. My favorite beach is called China Cove Beach, its in a state park right past Carmel in California. Its very small and you must climb down steep stairs to get to it, but the water is so clear you can see the bottom 50 ft down and you can watch the seals and otters play and frolic in the seaweed and waves. I also love to explore the cave on one side that you can only access by a very very cold wade thru 1 to 2 foot deep water at low tide. The colors there are as amazing as in most of your cards and photos.Carlisa from Dallas TX

What lovely stationary!

My favorite beach is a little East of Montego Bay in Jamaica. There are really small bungalows that you can rent out and they have a chef that comes around in the mornings and serves you the freshest breakfast in the world.

The water is clear and you can see boats far out, and if you paddle in you can get to little clusters of reef with beautiful fish. It's really paradise.

BEAUTIFUL site. Lovely.

I haven't been to too many beaches, but I love them. There's something about the smell of the air and the sound of the waves and that feeling of vertigo as one scans the horizon that gets seared into memory isn't there? My favorite beach has to be Destin, Fl. White sand and clear water, and even in the early morning the air is warm and wonderful.

I think my favourite beaches are the ones with the fondest memories attached to them:

Long Beach on Vancouver Island because I got to wander there with my lovely grandparents.

Some beach in the Bahamas we stopped at on a cruise when I was a child. I just remember laying in a hammock with my parents and watching the ship rock in the waves.

Hello there!
We spent Christmas on my parent's 42' gaff-rigged ketch, anchored off a tiny island near St.Barths once... Imagine Christmas morning - you wake up early, but it's already a little warm. No-one else is awake yet, so you slip on a bathing suit, climb into the dinghy, and row ashore. You have a quiet swim in the turquoise water, & then just sit on the edge of the sand. Fresh coffee on the breeze, a pelican cruising slowly by, gentle lapping sounds, deep intake of breath.

I grew up in Racine, Wisconsin and lived only a short distance from Lake Michigan. I love Racine's beaches for many, many reasons. They are understated, and subtle. They don't scream "tourist" or "overpopulated, no room for a blanket or towel". They are peaceful, reflective and tranquil. My husband and I were married in 1990 and had our wedding reception at the light house in Racine. It was magical. 10 years after our marriage our son Evan was born. We are both artists and wanted to follow our bliss for awhile before having children. Evan too, loves the beach in Racine. I think he feels free in the lake water with the seaweed tickling his toes and the wide open sky. It's special, and so is he. Evan has autism. Some days are really, really rough for him, but the beach is a place to just "be". I try to take refuge in my art (I am a metalsmith) when I can, which isn't nearly as often as I wish. I live vicariously through other artists beautiful work. Thank you for sharing your pretty little world.

My favorite beach is La Ropa in Zihuantenejo, Mexico.
It is gorgeous, and dotted with little bar/restaurants where you can hang out all day under an umbrella--and relax completely. It's funky, friendly, and has been a destination for 30 years for those seeking calm, away from the Cancun/Cabo sort of Mexico. The food and locals are fantastic, and the resorts range from the vintage to the luxe. I've met some of the sweetest people in the world there. I can smell it right now if I really concentrate.
I adore your products and your blog!

I'm afraid I'm not very well traveled but my favourite beach so far is Kynace Cove in Cornwall, UK. Maybe it's because I have fond memories of making sand sculptures with my hubby when we were new sweethearts and getting a real buzz when a little boy wanted his photo taken with our 'lock nessy'. Or maybe, it's the way the the crystal blue waters retreat to reveal another secluded section of beach that reminds you of the hidden islands in James Bonds 'Goldfinger'. Whatever it is, I just feel such a connection to this beach. It's difficult to find crystal blue waters and a warm sun trap in the UK but I've found everything I could possibly want and more in Kynace Cove and I'm in love with it.
Thank you for bringing back such wondeful memories. x
