Hot stuff ;-)

Brrrrr, baby it's cold outside! I have a secret - at this time of the year I like nothing better than going to bed with a hot water bottle on my feet - must be because I grew up in Scotland where I wouldn't have dreamed of going to bed without one! I spotted this tutorial the other day on Craftgawker and thought I would share it with my crafty readers. This is such a posh hot water bottle cover from My Patchwork - much fancier than the ones that my mum knits me(I know, the visual gets better and better!) I wonder if I could bribe my quilting mother in law to make one of these beauties for me . . . .

Oh man, these are perfect! I had forgotten, but at my last apt my desk was right in front of a very drafty window. Whenever I had to sit there for hours making jewelry (for another company, not my own designs) I would put a hot water bottle under my feet to counteract the drafts. I'm so glad you posted this, now I'll have a lovely cover to use!

I love hot things in the winter! I'm a big fan of the corn-filled or flax seed filled pillows that you pop in the microwave too. I like to lay them right on my belly. A hot water bottle sounds much more old-fashioned and sweet though.

What a great find, instructions and all! I must make at least one of these. Hot water bottles are a staple in my life, so why not dress 'em up?
