While we are on the subject of bags we should check out these satchels from Cambridge Satchel - thank you Gillian for the link. These are just like the satchels we had for school in Scotland though ours had 2 straps like a back pack on them - did you have one of these?

My school satchel was just like these except it only came in the standard brown colour. The strap was the same and we used to love it when they got all roughed up.
These are gorgeous. What beautiful colours...I love items like these...they feel luxurious to me.
ohmygosh yes! I had the standard brown leather, too, when I attended school in England. : ) How fun to see them in colour!
How could you pick from these colors? I like them all but gosh, red always wins!

I have one of these in kelly green and it has the backpack straps rather than the over the shoulder strap. You can customize your strap choice on their site.
