DIY - upcycled book project

Here's my favourite DIY tutorial from the last couple of weeks. A pretty little vintage 'rolodex' from Andrea Rodgers. This is so clever and really so practical - I love it. If you collect paper ephemera what a fun way to display it. Great job Andrea!

DIY - willow wreath with pom poms

I rather like this willow wreath with tiny pink pom poms on it - from Martha Stewart.

Hot stuff ;-)

Brrrrr, baby it's cold outside! I have a secret - at this time of the year I like nothing better than going to bed with a hot water bottle on my feet - must be because I grew up in Scotland where I wouldn't have dreamed of going to bed without one! I spotted this tutorial the other day on Craftgawker and thought I would share it with my crafty readers. This is such a posh hot water bottle cover from My Patchwork - much fancier than the ones that my mum knits me(I know, the visual gets better and better!) I wonder if I could bribe my quilting mother in law to make one of these beauties for me . . . .

Just quickly, I ran across this great post on Knuckle Salad - a great collection of paper flower tutorials. Just what you needed on a rainy fall weekend - have fun!

Crafts - security envelope paper crafts.

I thought these were really interesting - wreath/stars made from folded paper, security envelopes in fact! I've seen a few collections of patterned security envelope paper recently and using it for crafts is a great idea! These pretty paper crafts are from Milomade via Craft Gawker.

Inspiration

These caught my eye at Craft Gawker - cute little origami rosebuds! There is a wonderful but complicated looking tutorial at Bloomize to guide you through the paper folding process - go on, give it a go . . .
