Ship ahoy

I had a great weekend - did you? It finally felt like summer here at the lake and we got to spend most of the weekend outside. I love the nautical theme of this great old sweety tin - but I really must stop buying tins - so this one's yours for the taking!

Dog. Blanket.

What a show stopper this vintage Pendleton pillow is - and what a great idea to piece one of these iconic blankets together, creating a whole new design - kind of Nordic! Love it. Great job Little Byrd Vintage.

Also from Little Byrd this fantastic scotty bookend. It's amazing how many dogs end up on this blog and you know I've never even had a dog!

Lily Moon

I had this little pin from Lily Moon bookmarked and, low and behold, it sold - well of course it did because it's so darn cute! Lots of gorgeous hand painted pins etc right here at Lily Moon's shop.

Odd and old

This is super cool - check out this vintage 1940s fabric. I love seeing original textile design like this, it drives me! Makes me want to stop everything I'm doing and start designing collages. From one of my fave French Etsy shops, Odd and Old.

Vintage finds

Oh oh oh . . . I love this . . . I'm hyper ventilating! What's not to love - the colour, the typography? I wish it was mine :-)

And it can be yours(or mine) from Bellalulu!

Vintage inspiration

Seeing as you all have such good taste - I thought you would appreciate this fab remnant of Victorian wallpaper. I'm quite sure it's the kind that contains lots of arsenic - so if you purchase this lovely piece of history - don't lick it ;-)

Very old box from Kelley Street Vintage

Fancy Linda's dapper chap!

This is the paper weight that I bought form Fancy Linda. I love it so much. The dapper chap with his striped shirt on! And Linda packaged it inside this wonderful old ginger candy tin. It was such a lovely surprise!

Cartolina Market update

I've been collecting misc. vintage, wooden boxes since last summer when I decided that we should have the Cartolina market tent. I've been quite successful in finding great old wooden, tool boxes and file drawers to use as card displays over the last few months and I think the Cartolina Big Top will look fabulously vintage. I'm not sure when we will debut - I have a feeling it won't be at our local Wednesday market here in Nelson because it doesn't start until June but I think we might launch at the Kelowna farmers market which is a very vibrant and thriving Saturday morning market in the Okanagan - I'll keep you posted. Here are some fine examples of the kind of boxes I've been coveting - from Sadie Olive.

Maranon

There's something about these that reminds me of the Spirograph post from the other day - must be the geometry factor - what do you think? I've had my eye on these for a while and I like the way they have evolved. From Maranon.

Urbanite Jewelry

I rather fancy these earrings. In fact I rather fancy a few things from Urbanite Jewelry. Their pieces are very inexpensive($12) and really unusual. I bought a cool paisley tunic from the John Robshaw collection at Lucky Brand when I was in SF last week. these black earrings would look very exotic with the indian motif on the fabric - I think I'll treat myself!

Hand Painted signage

I just know you are going to love these. Hand painted letters and signage from Golden West Sign Arts in Berkeley CA. The first letter A here caught my because Doug loves 3 dimensional, art deco type and uses it all the time in his work - it's so fun and all hand painted!

Spring has sprung!

I'm loving this sweet little pendant from Anna Humphries. So charming. This is an original watercolour painting that has been permanently sealed under the bezel. Lovely!
