New at Cartolina Postale

Hello everyone. I wanted to tell you that we have a new update to the Cartolina Postale app today. If you download the latest version you will see that you can now email and Tweet your postcards. We heard from lots of you that said you'd like to email the postcards - not just mail them - so we listened and as of today you can now email them. And you can also send fun greetings on Twitter too.

If you'd still like to use snail mail I'd like to show you how easy it is to design a postcard using images from your iPhone. You've probably got lots of pictures on your phone - but like me, you may not be comfortable always including a picture of yourself on one of our postcards. Here's what I do. I get out some of my vintage cards and ephemera and I take a nice picture with my iPhone, save it to my camera roll and then use it one of the Cartolina Postale postcards. I love this first one and have used it a few times recently to say hello and thank you to our newest retailers. You can also email yourself images from your desktop computer, save them on your iPhone and use them the same way. There are lots of good ideas. have fun.

Save photos of vintage graphics to your iPhone and use them instead of family pictures - above.

Use vintage clip art - take a photo of the clipart with your phone, save it to your camera roll and use it on a postcard. This would make a fun dinner party invitation, don't you think?

When you email the postcards there are size options. I recommend using the medium size - but if you'd like to print the final piece out then use the largest size. The Cartolina Postale app is available for iPad and iPhone and is available here.

Introducing Cartolina Postale!

This is the new Cartolina Postale iPhone app. YAY!

We've been working on this for a few weeks and are thrilled to announce that it's available, as of today, at the app store.

The response to the Cartolina app has been so overwhelming over the last year that we thought that the natural next step was an app that actually allows you to send physical paper postcards. So the Cartolina Postale app lets you combine our pretty, vintage images with your own photography - it's so fun!

There are 32 postcard designs to choose from, including some lovely holiday designs! You can take a picture using your phone or you can choose a picture from your photo gallery and it pops right onto your chosen card. Then you can scale the image, move it around or change the card design. It's so simple! After you've customized your card and you're happy with how it looks, you can write a message on the back. There's loads of room for your message. You'll be asked to open an account, which is very fast and simple, and from there you can address your card and it will be printed and sent. The app is FREE and the cost of printing and mailing a 4 x 6 postcard in the US is $1.99. Cards arrive very quickly - within 5 days according to our tests (in the US and UK) and a little longer to Canada. The quality of the cards is great, shiny, bright, heavy weight card. The app is available for iPhone and iPod Touch right now and will be available for iPad by the end of the month. It will work on your 3GS as long as you have iOS 4.0 installed. The cost to mail a card to Canada is $2.99 but apparently Sincerely, who take care of the printing and mailing of the cards, are working really hard to bring us a $1.99 card in Canada asap, so stay tuned!

Instagram and the Cartolina iPhone app.

Have you updated your Cartolina iPhone app this week? The latest feature allows you to post Cartograms directly to Instagram - super cool. A few weeks ago I started noticing that lots of people on Instagram post images with messages in them so I thought "Why not post Cartograms?" I think this is a fun new feature and I hope you enjoy it. New Cartogram designs in the next update - stand by!

The Cartolina iPhone app is almost a year old - I can hardly believe it! I think we'll have a little celebration - maybe a fun giveaway!.

The New Cartolina iPhone app.

Yay - we have a brand new Cartolina app ready for you to download today. Due to some complicated details we had to get our new developer to rebuild the app from scratch over the last few weeks and so today we are happy to launch the shiny *new* Cartolina iPhone app! The new app is slightly different in function and flow and I think you are going to love it.

Along with

the 18 current Cartogram designs there is now an option to buy the new Post & Salvage Collection - 9 fab new designs for 99 cents. The new designs are pictured below and are all based on layered vintage ephemera. Some of the pieces are almost 150 years old - isn't it fun that we can reuse vintage paper in such a hi-tech format?

So if you already have the Cartolina app you can just update your app to the new version - you'll find the option to purchase the Post & Salvage Collection at the foot of the thumbnails page - it's an easy, in-app purchase. We are very excited that the Cartolina app is a featured app at iTunes this week. Yay! We just want to say thanks, again, for all your support. It has been such a fabulous experience and I'm so grateful to those of you who have downloaded it in the last few months. I promise there will be new designs coming very shortly :-)

So I wanted to say thanks to everyone who participated in all our excitement last week. Almost 80 of you took the time to leave comments and let me know which of our potential art prints should be featured at our new Cartolina Etsy Store. You have no idea how helpful that was to me. There are clear winners in those prints - especially the ladies/skirts/legs series - which makes me happy because when you see those up close and in detail you are going to love them. I think I might actually make one of those skirt images into our next business card.

Hey, guess what? The free update is ready for your Cartolina iPhone app. There are 8 new Cartograms which I think you will have fun with. The new designs are based on the layered ephemera look that was so popular with the holiday app. We have changed a few things with the functionality - there are now 4 lines available for your message - and, we have one *brand new feature* that I think you will enjoy - now you can post Cartograms to your Facebook page!! It's here! The new Cartolina Holiday app is now available at the app store. We've been working hard on this for the last few weeks and are thrilled to be able to offer it to you as of today!

Our Holiday app is all about sending brief but beautifully festive messages using one of our customizable Cartograms. Choose from the selection of holiday designs, customize your message and then you can either email or text it to the lucky recipient. The Cartolina app supports dozens of languages and allows you to send to multiple recipients. I think that the Holiday app will be fabulous for pretty party invitations this season. But that's not all - due to popular demand we have added a 4th line of text for your messages. So now, instead of 3 lines you have 4 lines available to you.
