Old School Market!

Tomorrow (Saturday) is market day - Old School Market day! Rachel and Lily from Birch and Bird have been hard at work organizing this fabulous vintage and handmade market to be located at Old Clayburn School in Abbotsford BC - 9 to 4 on Saturday the 28th. I hope you will try to make it if you are in the area - it sounds like it will be great fun! For more info click here! Rachel and Lily have put together a fantastic collection of vintage market display ideas - take a look - I'm sure you will love them! A few examples below! Good luck ladies!

Souvenir Souvenir

I'm sorry, this is sold - yup! But seeing as this is not the shopping channel I thought you might like to see it anyway in all it's vintage cuteness. It was available at Souvenir Souvenir - until someone bought it! But they do have other stuff :-)

A Little Hut - 26 Days of making

Do you know Patricia Zapata from A Little Hut? Of course you do! Well have you seen what she's been up to lately? I took a trip to her blog the other day and fell in love with all her new creations - Patricia is working on '26 Days of Making' this month and she is on a roll! Check out some of her latest work . . .

This is Patricia's beautiful book, Home, Paper, Scissors, full of wonderful projects with easy to follow instructions. Many of her creations are available to purchase, or as downloadable patterns, at The Little Hut online store. You can also follow Patricia on Twitter, as I do, just to try and keep up with all her projects - phew!

New from Dolan Geiman!

I'm loving these new wooden pennants from Dolan Geiman. I love anything that's screen printed on wood with vintage written all over it! These designs are fab - doesn't the blue and white look great on the tan colour of the raw wood? I have a huge collection of vintage felt pennants - but I might trade them all in for one of these! Clever clever clever!

Lily Moon

I had this little pin from Lily Moon bookmarked and, low and behold, it sold - well of course it did because it's so darn cute! Lots of gorgeous hand painted pins etc right here at Lily Moon's shop.

Odd and old

This is super cool - check out this vintage 1940s fabric. I love seeing original textile design like this, it drives me! Makes me want to stop everything I'm doing and start designing collages. From one of my fave French Etsy shops, Odd and Old.

Flour & Fauna

Good morning my friends! I couldn't wait to show you these papier maché platters from Flour & Fauna this morning. I love the gorgeous vintage engravings combined with rustic finish. These would look really fabulous hung in a group on the wall - and for a very reasonable price too. Here are my favourites - there are lots to choose from so head over to Flour & Fauna . . . and enjoy . . .

The mystery diver.

Doug took this picture when we were at the farmer's market on Saturday. It is a broken badge from the back of an old blue van. I love the picture and Doug asked me to ask you guys if you know anything about this - perhaps you or your husband/brother boyfriend might just happen to know something about this badge - Doug said it was on the back door of the old van and it looks like it could be 'factory'. And if you happen to know where he could get one(the badge, not the van, thank you very much,) that would be great :-)

Vintage inspired bottle openers.

I found this fun, nautical inspired bottle openers at Bodega Shoppe. Very fun vintage design. Great beach party hostess gift!

Inspiration - vintage flower buttons.

Cherry red, pressed celluloid flower buttons from the 30s. With a lovely hand carved look. Funny how some so small and simple and inspire a colour palette or a floral motif - it certainly has inspired me this morning . . . .

The Home Ground

Long time visitor to Cafe Cartolina, Brittany Broas, is set to launch her new jewelry collection on Monday at The Home Ground. This is a pretty special collection, as the stones are all of a very high quality, sourced directly from the cutter who works with his family in India - working directly with the craftsman is very important to Brittany and her work. Each stunning piece is only available in an edition of 5. These pale green earrings and the tiny, rough cut ruby necklace are my favourite . . .

You can see more of this beautiful collection at The Home Ground, in their new Look Book and you can also catch up with Brittany on Facebook.
