Inspiration - band posters

Up until now I felt there was little competition for band posters - The Decemberists won hands down. But I think that these posters for The Swell Season definitely give them a run for their money.

Found - Odd Molly

I love these woven belts/sashes from Odd Molly. If you don't know Odd Molly you need to check out her wares right now - very cute clothing and fab website. The embroidered details are second to none.

Inspiration

I think we have all had, at one time or another, a vintage suitcase fetish. It's hard to ignore them at yard sales and junk stores. This pair is original - including the beautiful travel labels and stickers. I thought you might like to see them. I find endless inspiration in old labels - aren't they wonderful?

Spotted - Hus and Hem

Spotted these at Print and Pattern yesterday. Normally I think that we have tastes on the opposite ends of the design spectrum but I was excited to see these pieces on her blog yesterday - very mid century in a non-hokey, northern European kind of way! These are from Hus and Hem.

Found - Bustle and Sew

This is fun - you can download this cute embroidered pillow pattern from Bustle and Sew. I like it's vintage, but current, feel - you could combine it with any fabric you want - this looks like some Cath Kidston but you could make it look less granny-chic with something more graphic if you like - or shades of neutral linen would look nice too.

Inspiration - Kara Ginther

As soon as I saw these I knew that they just had to make an appearance at The Cafe. I love the idea of producing something so traditional like a bike seat with beautiful materials and the unexpected addition of pretty carved patterns. These make me very happy. From Kara Ginther. Do they make you happy too?

Vintage toys

I'm such a sucker for vintage toys, are you? They add such a playfulness to your decor or your collections. They evoke an era and I especially love the well played with variety. These fabulous horses, the bunny and the plane are from one of our fave vintage sellers on Etsy - Bellalulu.

These are great! Wonderful colours and a great take on the shabby look. Very nicely designed by Foxes and Robbers.

Just a reminder, if you're not all ready following us on Twitter you can do so right here. I was quite skeptical about Twitter for the first while but I really enjoy it now and have met so many wonderful people. Also, if you have a blog or a business it's a great way to make announcements. Oh, and if you follow me and I have neglected to follow you back(sorry about that) just leave a message below to give me a nudge. Thanks! Happy Tweeting!

Found

Isn't this fun - not just the ring but the display too? I love this seller - I've featured her work here before - the creativity and the colours - so fun. From Cookoorikoo.

Inspiration- press sheets

This is kind of interesting - at least I think it is! This is an uncut Cartolina press sheet from our printers. We don't get to see these very often because they get sliced up and sent to us as individual cards but my guy at the printers thought I might like a few of them. I can't wait to dry mount one of these and hang it on the studio wall. It's quite large, 50" x 30" - holds 16 cards. I had a friend over to the studio at the weekend and she snapped one up - not sure what she'll use it for - maybe she'll hang it on her wall too! If you have other great ideas - let me know below . . .

Inspiration

I thought the cover of this book was rather nice - I think a certain paper pal of mine might like this stitchy look. It looks almost like perforated paper doesn't it. Very inspiring! Available here.

Found

I can hear you all groaning - I'm probably the last person to find these, right? Oh well - what a great idea anyway! Why didn't I think of this. I love the vintage and the industrial look - they tick all the boxes for me! Get yours from Mid West Finds.

Stylin'

I absolutely adore this stylist's work. Lula - you can see her work on her website and also on Flickr. She has a great sense of playfulness in her work. I haven't run across her photographs until recently and I can't get enough of them. Originally from Buenos Aires(a place I never spell correctly) and now living in New York. I think you will love her work too. Beautiful!

Inspiration

Thought I would stop by Bonjour Mon Coussin to see what's new. I love the way they use vintage images on their pillows and now they have very nice bags too. Their product is very high quality and their new designs are really fun.
